Strategic Health Communications for Social Determinants Awareness

Executive Summary

 

In partnership with The Health Foundation and Ogilvy, SEHP developed a comprehensive health communications strategy aimed at raising public awareness of the social determinants of health. The campaign focused on audience-specific messaging, expert-led content development, and performance tracking to influence perception and promote equity-focused health discourse.

 

Objectives

 

  • Increase public understanding of social determinants of health.

  • Craft segmented messaging that resonates with diverse audience groups.

  • Equip health advocates with tools to amplify campaign messaging consistently.


Approach & Methodology


Audience Segmentation:
We conducted audience research to identify demographic and psychographic segments, enabling tailored messaging for each group.

Content Development:
SEHP created a suite of assets - from articles to multimedia pieces - designed to accommodate different learning styles and media preferences.


Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborating with healthcare professionals, advocates, and community voices, we ensured content accuracy and emotional resonance.


Platform Selection:

The campaign strategy integrated traditional media, social platforms, and community engagement channels to maximise reach and impact.
 

Feedback Mechanisms:

Built-in feedback loops provided real-time insight, allowing us to fine-tune messaging, visuals, and platform priorities based on audience response.

    These deliverables now support community-led health campaigns and NGO-led equity advocacy efforts across multiple channels.
