Developing Grassroots Public Health Messaging with Safer Spaces

Executive Summary

 

In partnership with Safer Spaces, SEHP created a podcast series to help elevate grassroots health advocacy into the broader public conversation. The podcast explores how Safer Spaces emerged from festival activism and transitioned into a powerful platform addressing community safety, health, and public awareness.
 

Objectives

 

  • Capture and share the grassroots story of Safer Spaces.

  • Translate community organising into public policy relevance.

  • Support campaign messaging and visibility through podcast storytelling.


Approach & Methodology


Community-Driven Content:
SEHP worked closely with the Safer Spaces team to co-create a podcast format and voice that was true to their roots in festival and nightlife activism.


Narrative Structuring:
We developed scripts, themes, and interviews that reflected authentic lived experience while aligning with broader public health goals.


Audio Production & Distribution:
Our team handled technical production, editing, and promotional strategy to reach both activist and general public audiences.
