Strategic Narrative Development for Respiratory Vaccination Awareness

Executive Summary

In partnership with Pfizer, SEHP led the development of a scientifically grounded, strategically aligned narrative to enhance awareness and advocacy around respiratory diseases - specifically focusing on pneumococcal disease, RSV in children and adults, and seasonal influenza. This initiative produced a comprehensive position statement and supporting materials to inform and influence health professionals, policymakers, and the public.

Objectives

  • Raise awareness of major respiratory illnesses and their vaccine preventability.

  • Strengthen internal alignment on respiratory vaccine priorities.

  • Provide strategic guidance for promoting and communicating vaccine programs.

Approach & Methodology

Research Synthesis:
Our team consolidated the latest findings on pneumococcal, RSV, and influenza vaccines to ensure the narrative was backed by cutting-edge scientific evidence.

Strategic Alignment:
Insights from internal strategic documents were integrated to align narrative priorities with broader organisational goals.

Expert Consultation:
We conducted interviews with subject matter experts and leadership to validate and refine our positioning, ensuring resonance and authority.

Key Activities

  • Compilation and analysis of recent respiratory vaccine data.

  • Development of a multi-audience narrative framework.

  • Drafting of a central position statement and supplementary education assets.

  • Strategic consultation to generate vaccine communication recommendations.

Outcomes & Impact

The project delivered:

  • A position statement detailing the public health significance of vaccines for pneumococcal disease, RSV, and influenza.

  • Tailored educational materials to support outreach among HCPs, policymakers, and communities.

  • A set of strategic recommendations guiding the organisation’s efforts to elevate vaccination messaging and adoption.

  • This work helped reinforce the urgency of a life course approach to respiratory vaccination and strengthened advocacy capacity across internal and external channels.
