European Parliament Roundtable on Life Course Immunisation: A Call for EU-Level Action

Executive Summary

On 27 June 2023, SEHP supported the Coalition for Life Course Immunisation (CLCI) and MEP Cyrus Engerer in delivering a high-level European Parliament roundtable discussion on adult vaccination. With participation from multiple countries and institutions, the session focused on improving adult immunisation through data-driven policy, public engagement, and EU coordination.

Objectives

• Elevate the conversation around adult vaccination at the EU level.

• Encourage multi-disciplinary collaboration and patient inclusion in immunisation strategies.

• Lay the groundwork for an official MEP Interest Group on Life Course Immunisation (LCI).

Approach & Methodology

Strategic Convening:
SEHP played a key role in content planning, coordination, and communications support for the roundtable, ensuring participation from high-level stakeholders and country representatives.

Country Insights Integration:
Presentations from France, Italy, Spain, and Lithuania shared practical perspectives on adult vaccination frameworks and outcomes.

Call to Action Facilitation:
We supported the alignment of political voices - particularly MEPs Tomislav Sokol and Cyrus Engerer - in endorsing the creation of an MEP Interest Group focused on Life Course Immunisation.
